The landlord was abducted around 11:35 p.m., when 2 men grabbed him, tied him up, and threw him in a Dodge Caravan on Thursday. Police identified it was Stark’s body in a smoldering dumpster on Saturday. An autopsy revealed he had also been suffocated, before being set on fire. Authorities believe it is the landlord’s business associates that may be responsible for his murder. This is what a police source had to say:
“We knew from (Friday) it could end this way. When you look at his business dealings, you see a lot of red flags. Obviously he had many enemies.”
Investigators suspect Stark was involved with a real estate scam, although his business partner insist the landlord was an honest man. Former tenants did not sing the same tune, calling him a “slumlord”.
