Considering his age and how brutal the leg injury was, many people assumed that Anderson Silva would retire and call it quits but he’s adamant that is not the case.
Anderson Silva immediately underwent surgery for the broken leg and is said to be in great spirits.
TMZ spoke with his manager Jorge Guimaraes who said “Trust me, he will be back.”
“He had his second X-ray [Thursday] and everything looks great. It was a clean break so the nerves are okay. He’s already started physical therapy and he’s moving his toes.”
Jorge says Silva is extremely confident he’ll return to the octogon after he recovers — despite rumors he’s considering hanging up his trunks for good.
Silva’s currently in LA recovering with his family … and doctors say he could be able to resume training in 6-9 months.
Silva is considered one of the best fighters in UFC history and I would hate to see that be the way he goes out. I wish him good luck in his recovery and hope his actual retirement comes on his terms.
