After 13-year-old Jahi McMath underwent tonsil surgery, she woke up bleeding non-stop and went into cardiac arrest. Shortly after, the California hospital pronounced the girl brain dead. However, her family has been fighting to stop the Children’s Hospital of Oakland from pulling the plug, stating that their daughter is not dead. Both the judge and doctors came to the decision that there was no possible way for the 8th grader to come back to life and granted a 5 p.m. ET cut-off time for the plugs to be pulled. However, the same Alameda County Superior Court Judge Evelio Grillo ended up extending the deadline to 5 p.m. (8 p.m. ET) on January 7, 2014.
Let’s pray that Jahi is able to somehow pull through from such a horrible thing!
