Hip-Hop impresario Jermaine Dupri ran into a bit of trouble with Miami Beach PD recently, when a vehicle he was riding in was stopped because the tints were darker than the legal limit. According to TMZ, police stated that they smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After all of individuals riding in the car were searched, no marijuana was found but police did discover a single xanax pill belonging to one of Dupri’s companions.
After having more squad cars and a K-9 unit perform a thorough search of the vehicle, nothing was discovered but officers insisted that Dupri’s friend was in illegal possession of the prescription pill. Someone in the entourage went home and retrieved a prescription for the xanax, at which point officers let all the men go about their business.
Durpi took to twitter to address the situation. Though in his tweets he jokingly laughed at the incident, he told TMZ that he was followed after leaving the club because of his celebrity status. Check the gallery above for the photos.
