After being on the run for nearly four decades, Kathlyn Regenia Huff was arrested and taken into custody for an attempted murder charge.
In 1977, Huff was indicted on allegations of attempted murder after she allegedly shot her common law husband in the head. The two got into an argument, Huff pulled out a handgun and shot him in the head, Chris Bozeman, spokesman for the Marshals Service in San Antonio told the Express-News. Bozeman said the man survived the attack.
Huff evaded capture by moving away from San Antonio, getting married and changing her name to Kathlyn Regenia Rose, authorities said. The man Huff married is the brother of the former Michigan star and NBA analyst Jalen Rose. His name is Kevin Rose.
Kathlyn was 22 at the time of the incident and evaded authority for 36 years. Jalen Rose said he stands behind his relative and will fund her legal representation.
