IFWT Thaddeus Young

There was a report claiming Thaddeus Young’s agent, Jim Tanner, formally spoke to Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie weeks ago and requested a trade for his client. Young says that’s not true.

“I just think it’s all funny how it’s sources that say I asked to be traded,” Young told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “At the end of the day, like I said, I’m here 110 percent each and every game, ready to play and just stay focused and try to win basketball games.”

Young has been linked with Houston’s Omer Asik, however the Rockets have taken their center off the market, so Young is likely to remain with the Sixers for at least the duration of the season. Young did clarify that Tanner and Hinkie had discussed several topics, including the rumors, but never went as far as to ask for a trade.

“I think the biggest thing is we want to be sure what it is we are doing here,” Young said. “As of right now, like I said, I’m 110 percent.”

Young is signed through 2015-16, although he can invoke his early termination option and become a free agent in 2015.
