Tough break for the Brooklyn Nets who have already been battling several injuries in the young season. Nets’ center Brook Lopez has reportedly suffered a broken foot again and will be out for the rest of the year.
A league source confirmed the news to NetsDaily and was later confirmed by ESPN.
It’s unclear exactly when the injury occurred, but Lopez left last night’s overtime loss to the Sixers without speaking to reporters. He has missed nine games this season with ankle injuries, and missed almost all of the 2012 season with a similar foot fracture.
Lopez was not only important to the Nets defensively, guarding the paint, but he was also one of their key offensive players.
Lopez was averaging 20.7 points, 6 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game.
