As controversial and messy as this situation is, are we REALLY surprised that a cast-member of A+E’s hit show “Duck Dynasty” went on an anti-gay tirade? The answer is absolutely not. Phil Robertson has reportedly been suspended from the show after word of him publicly bashing gays came to the light. Click below to see some of the nonsense Robertson was saying in his ridiculous homophobic rant.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
Regardless of the super high ratings, the A+E network showed no remorse after making their decision to suspend the show’s star for his comments. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, an A+E PR rep said:
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
No word has yet to be released as to when Robertson’s suspension will be over, if it will.
Who can REALLY be surprised that a cast member on a show full of red necks made a few homophobic comments? I’m not with that white trash nonsense to begin with, but this comes as NO surprise to me, what-so-ever.
