Ariana Grande has gotten herself in a little trouble with a simple but crucial line from a popular oldie! Hit the jump for more.
The adorable actress turned pop singer Ariana Grande is allegedly getting sued for an opening line in her hit “The Way” featuring Mac Miller. Grande has been pursued by the Jimmy Castor Bunch for taking their 1970’s “Troglodyte” hit line, “What we’re guna do right here is go back, Way back, Back in to time.” and using it in her song “The Way” without acknowledging the group.
Grande’s representatives reponded to the allegations by stating:
“the alleged offending materials were not provided by Ariana, and we trust that the co-writers and producers will resolve the claim with Minder.”
The group’s publishing company, Minder Music is looking towards a “permanent injunction and a declaration of willful infringement, among other charges”.
