This is just unbelievable! Not only did he show face at the memorial for, Nelson Mandela, but “fake interpreter,” came out yesterday about his battle with schizophrenia. Wait, that’s not it – real name, Thamsanqa Jantjie has a heavy history of rape, murder and theft. Hit the jump for the deets.

Even though I’m slightly lost – no one mentioned during the fake sign language session that they couldn’t understand – it was even more of a misunderstanding as to why this guy did what he did, until now. Jantjie publicly mentioned that he regularly has schizophrenic episodes that he can’t control, one of which he suffered the day of the memorial.
“I tried to control myself and not show the world what was going on. I am very sorry, it’s the situation I found myself in,” says Jantjie.
It’s wild that with his knowledge of the disorder and the extensive history of a, “…rape and theft charges in 1994, housebreaking charges in 1997, malicious damage to property charges in 1998, murder, attempted murder and kidnapping in 2003,” according to Johannesburg-based news station eNCA, that he was even allowed to be so close to that many of our nations leaders. The guy obviously needs medical attention.
