FINALLY! It isn’t too often that the voice of reason within the Knicks organization belongs to owner James Dolan. He is usually the one making one idiotic, unbelievable decision after the other. In my opinion the Knicks almost made a huge error yesterday by almost agreeing to a deal with the Toronto Raptors that would of sent point guard Kyle Lowry to New York, in exchange for a combo of Raymond Felton, Metta World Peace, Iman Shumpert, Tim Hardaway JR and a first round pick from 2018, depending on what report you believe. Today is was reported that Dolan has killed the deal personally. Could this be a sign of change in MSG? Hit the jump for more.

James Dolan is basically the Jerry Jones of the NFL. A smart business man, with too much of an ego to realize he doesn’t know anything about owning and building a team. He has constantly got involved in personnel decisions, which are normally left to the general manager which Dolan himself hired. Don’t even get me started on how Dolan allowed Isiah Thomas to practically ruin the Knicks for a decade. Overpaid players who never lived up to the hype and over paying players that weren’t sh*t to begin with, meanwhile letting valuable contributors leave the city. But maybe, just maybe something clicked in his brain finally.
The Raptors were in serious talks with the Knicks yesterday and even into the early morning hours of today. The asking price for Kyle Lowry, an average point guard who averages 14 points and 6 assists per game was higher than a crack head taking his first hit. Depending on what source or report you believe, the deal was to include Felton, who himself averages about 11 points and 5 assists per game at the same position, Metta World Peace and a first round pick in 2018. Other options also reportedly included sending Iman Shumpert and Tim Hardaway jr. I am still looking for someone to explain to me with logic how the Raptors thought their PG who is about to lose his starting job anyway, is worth such a high asking price. Perhaps it is because the Raptors current GM, was also the GM in Denver when the Knicks and Nuggets traded for Carmelo. That asking price was way too high and Dolan went along with it anyway. It almost happened again but thankfully someone or something talked sense into him. Lowry is not some franchise changing player that is worth giving up that much more. He is another run of the mill guard who can easily be replaced. Perhaps moving forward if Dolan keeps making good decisions, their front office will not be the joke of the league.
