Christian Bale put on 40 pounds to play the leading role in “American Hustle”. “American Hustle”, which hits theaters Friday, is based on a con artist (Mel Weinberg) hired by the FBI for the ABSCAM sting. How did he put on the weight? Bale explained:
“You don’t move very much, you kind of sit on your a– and you shovel food into your cake-hole. I was just eating the cheeseburgers and the fries and he (Mel Weinberg) looked at me and said, ‘You know I really wasn’t that big when I was younger — and the whole comb-over thing?. No really, I had a pretty good head of hair.’”
The actor didn’t fall for that line from the former con artist!
