Two legends themselves Debbie Allen and David Foster were brought to the Soul Train stage to honor yet another Legend, the songstress Dionne Warwick! Hit the jump for more from the tribute
Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, and more were presented in a video montage paying respect to a legendary voice, Dionne Warwick. But it was the performance that captivated us all!
Old school Mr. Biggs, Ron Isley hit the stage to perform Mrs. Warwick’s classics, before he transitioned to New School’s Chrisette Michelle, who added her own twist to “Walk On By”. Ruben Studdard and Candice Glover took on “House Is Not A Home”. Gladys Knight and David Foster gave their rendition of Warwick’s “Anyone Who Had A Heart”.
Eric Benet gave us all “Deja Vu” as he performed the instant classic. Chrisette Michelle returned to the stage alongside Bobby V, Eddy lavert, “Then Came You”, all stood to pay homage and perform “Thats What Friends Are For”.
Warwick accepted the award by honoring her fans, those who’ve supported her and of course the Soul Train god, Don Cornelius!
