As of Tuesday night, Virginia Sen., Creigh Deeds was listed in fair condition. News spread that mid-day Tuesday [Nov. 19], the political figure was in critical condition after being found in his home with injuries of stab wounds to the face and chest. In the same home was his son, Austin Deeds, 24 who was pronounced dead, due to a self-inflicted gun shot wound. According to police, the day prior, Austin was denied entry into a psychiatric hospital. WHOA! Hit the bottom for the details.

Austin “Gus” Deeds was evaluated at the Rockbridge County Community Services Board. There was then an emergency custody order put out, but he was never admitted into a facility due to lack of beds. It’s said that officials at Rockbridge called around, but to no avail…they never called any facility beyond the rural area.
Investigators are still trying to piece together a motive and the events that lead up to the attempted murder/suicide. As the details emerge, IFWT will fill you in.
