Help could soon be on the way to Los Angeles in the form of Kobe Bryant. The Lakers have started 5-7 without their living legend and could use the help immediately. He was cleared for full basketball activity this past weekend and took part in full contact 5 on 5 drills this week in practice. Hit the jump for more.

“Yeah, yeah I can,” Bryant said when asked if it was possible he might return in one of the Lakers’ five remaining games this month. Bryant has been out since April 12th when he ruptured his Achilles in a game against the Warriors. There has not been much hope in LA without him. Asked about how he feels Kobe replied,
“I wouldn’t say limitations,” Bryant said. “I think there’s areas where it still needs to get stronger in terms of the jumping and being able to plant quickly and change directions and things like that. Those are areas where you just have to get stronger … but I could adjust my game and play at a pretty high level right now.”
Even coach D’antoni is surprised at how well Kobe has recovered to this point. He is also the coach of a team who’s leading scorer only averages about 13 points a game, so he is dying for Kobe to be back whether he will say it or not. Lakers fans now have a reason to cheer, even though they are playing better than my Knicks! Look for Kobe to be in the lineup very soon.
