It seems like the pop diva Lady Gaga’s anticipated album, was not so anticipated, as the singer has been faced with her record sales plummeting at an all time high, hit the jump for more!
When it comes to the Lady Gaga vs Katy Perry album release feud, Miss Perry definitely holds the crown as the ‘ARTPOP’ songstress was predicted to only bring in, between 240,000 and 260,000 copies its first week. These numbers fall significantly short to her previous ‘Born This Way’ album, which sold 1.1 million in its first week.
Gaga became alarmed, as she should be, after her label, Interscope records dished out millions in efforts to help promote and advertise the recent flopping album. The Examiner reports:
“Interscope Records put forth $25 million for ARTPOP’s promotion. That’s the most money any record company paid for promotion since Michael Jackson’s “Invincible” had a budget of 30 million… We are told that Interscope will have to lay off at least 50 employees after Gaga’s disaster”.
Alleged sources connected to Gaga and the industry state that the diva will be shedding her crazy appearance because “She now realizes her bizarre act is overshadowing her music.” I guess thats their temporary solution to her big problem.
