It’s early but we certainly have a dunk of the year candidate. On Tuesday night the Lakers defeated the Pelicans 116-95 with the help of Xavier Henry off the bench. Henry dropped 15 points including 3-of-3 from the behind the arc but this monster dunk was the highlight of the night. Withey planted his feet and was prepared to take the charge but he got way more than he bargained for.
In response to the dunk, Henry had this to say via Lakers beat writer Dave McMenamin:
“I knew it was Jeff (Withey) … He decided to take a charge and that wasn’t the right thing for him.”
Oh yea these two were teammates in college for the Kansas Jayhawks, ouch…
