During the FOX NFL Pregame show the major topic of discussion was the situation between Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito. Jay Glazer showed clips of his one-on-one interview with Incognito telling his side of the story. The crew gave their opinions as well and one of the major issues in the bullying scandal was Incognito’s use of the word “n*gger”. Incognito called Martin a “half n*gger” during one of his threats and it’s added another dimension to the already sorted tale.
During his interview with Glazer, Incognito acknowledged that he shouldn’t have used the word but also explained that it was used quite often in the locker room by both African American and Caucasian players.
CBS Sports analyst and former player Shannon Sharpe was deeply disturbed by the use of the word and gave a riveting explanation as to why. It also appears that he’s more upset with the Dolphins players who allowed it’s usage to become the norm.
