The Nets vs. Heat “rivalry” is definitely one to keep an eye on. With the addition of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry (all Lebron haters) to the Nets, things have heat up even more. On Friday night the Nets hosted the Heat for their home opener at the Barclays Center. Before the game tipped off several New York media members of course asked Lebron questions about the Nets, by the third question Lebron said he wouldn’t answer anymore and gave a funny reason why.
In case you forgot; Kevin Garnett told Lebron James to worry about his own team when Lebron defended his teammate Ray Allen. Garnett and Pierce were publicly upset when Ray Allen chose to leave the Celtics and sign with the Heat. As you know Garnett and Pierce were later traded to the Nets a deal in which Garnett waived his no-trade clause. Lebron felt they owed Allen an apology for being hypocritical and Garnett replied “tell LeBron to worry about Miami.” Now we have this glorious quote below.
“I worry about my own team,” James said after the third question about Brooklyn. “I’m not answering questions about the Nets. K.G. already told me to worry about my own team.”
