A break up sent a 21 year old man into a deadly rage and caused him to murder his girlfriend. Jarod Lane was sentenced to 33 years in prison by Kings County Supreme Court in Washington, after murdering 17 year old Jessica Scholl in May 2012. Lane arrived at Scholl’s home and stabbed her so hard, that the blades broke.
Prosecuter Jennifer Worley described the rest of the attack in her statement:
“He tried to strangle her with a belt, hit her head against the dresser multiple times, then he drug her to the bathroom where he tried to drown her in the toilet. When that didn’t work, he bashed her head against the toilet tank.”
SMH. After committing the murder, Lane tried to cover up his tracks and set his ex girlfriend’s home on fire. While imprisoned, he tried to commit suicide several times.
