As a writer myself who’s often trying to get stories out fast, I can totally understand that typos happen. This Fox Sports typo however is a costly one.
Fox Sports wrote a headline highlighting a big goal made by rookie Seth Jones. However instead of writing “biggest” they wrote “niggest”. Now the ‘B’ and ‘N’ are right next to each other on the keyboard so I can understand how this would happen but considering Jones is an African-American player in a mostly Caucasian league, I can see how it would ruffle a few feathers. Somehow the writer and editor both missed it.
