Sarah Hoildahl, a 22 year old single mother, works as a server at Ruby Tuesday in Concord, New Hampshire. Two members from the National Guard were sat in her section and soon Sarah over heard the soldier’s conversation about not being paid because of the government shut down and furloughs. Upon hearing this the single mother decided lunch would be on her, writing the message on a napkin to the patrons. A picture of the message was put on Facebook and gained so much attention, Sarah was invited to the Ellen DeGeneres Show. To find out how Ellen rewarded the good deed, click below.
After having Sarah Hoildahl the nation about her good deed, it was the comedian’s turn to be generous Ellen DeGeneres paid her back for the lunch she paid for, gave her a new 50 inch flat screen t.v. and also wrote out a check to her for $10,000. Must be nice!
