17-year-old Tiona Rodriguez was shopping at the Victoria’s Secret in Herald Square with her friend on Thursday when the security guards noticed they were shoplifting. They notified the police and took both girls into the back room to get searched when they noticed a horrible odor coming from the bag of stolen lingerie. It was then discovered that Rodriguez was carrying around a dead fetus with her because she apparently “didn’t know what else to do.”
Rodriguez was taken away to Bellevue Hospital immediately for evaluation. She posted on Facebook Wednesday night, “These cramps SON,” after police officials realized Rodriguez suffered from a miscarriage just the day before. The police also went to Rodriguez’ Marcy Project Housing apartment in Brooklyn to see if any signs of a pregnancy were visible in her room. Neighbors and family members were all in shock, claiming they had no clue at all she was pregnant. Not to mention, Tiona Rodriguez also has a 2-year-old child.
“She had to have hidden that pregnancy for a while,” said Rodriguez’ neighbor Lydia Perez. “I saw her outside here the other day with her family, and her baby. You would never know there were any problems.”
The whole situation is just very confusing and tragic–on all ends.
