Finally!!! We heard that Allen Iverson was going to make this announcement back in August and then never heard anything again…until now. He will officially make the announcement at the 76ers home opener. I always did want to see some team give AI another chance 🙁 but he had an amazing run. We’re wishing him the best.

Allen Iverson, who became one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history while playing for thePhiladelphia 76ers, will officially announce his retirement at the club’s home opener on Oct. 30, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.
Iverson, an 11-time All-Star, has not played in the NBA since 2010.
On his bobblehead night in Philadelphia in March, Iverson indicated he still hoped to return to the NBA. Just two months earlier, he turned down an opportunity to launch a comeback in the NBA Development League.
