The biggest anticipation for the upcoming NBA season is the return of Derrick Rose. Fans got an early glimpse of the star point guard last night as the Chicago Bulls took on the Indiana Pacers in the preseason opener. In perhaps the most-anticipated preseason opener in Bulls history, (Derrick) Rose scored 13 points in #TheRealReturn after missing the entire 2012-13 season rehabbing his knee from a city-crushing ACL injury.
Rose was rusty in many parts of his game, as expected, but his speed is there. So is his power. He said he thinks his vertical is five inches better than when he came in the league.
“I’m jumping a little bit higher,” he said.
Rose says vertical has gone up from 37 to 42 since rehab. It’ll be interesting to see how well Rose plays as he continues to get back into the swing of things. I’m also waiting to see how well the Bulls will do with the return of their star player. The gritty team managed to make it to the second round of the playoffs without him, it’ll be interesting to see where they end up with Rose back.
