University of the Incarnate Word new assistant football coach Ricky Williams, left, talks with players during an NCAA college football practice, Thursday Aug. 15, 2013, at the university in San Antonio. The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner and NFL All-Pro who led the league in rushing in 2002 is looking forward to getting back on the football field a year after his retirement from the NFL. I saw some people going in on Ricky Williams for this, but I think it’s great and there’s nothing wrong with it.  He has a new gig working as a part-time running backs coach at the University of Incarnate Ward in San Antonio and lives at the dorms there.  Check out this picture of his bed that’s been circulating & let us know what you think…

The reason: He’s the new part-time running backs coach at UIW and likes how convenient Joeris Dorm is to work. It’s just a two-minute walk down a steep hill to the Cardinals football facilities. Plus he’s only there part of the week as Thursdays after practice, he drives to Austin to be with his family and fulfill Longhorn Network analyst duties.

When Williams first got his room assignment, he forgot how small twin beds are. So he went to the kids section at Target and bought bedding.

“I’m really low maintenance,” he said. “I thought I could either get something big that’s nice, or something that fits and is cool.”

And Williams, who’s been out of the NFL since 2011, says he’s still got it.

“Yeah I still got it,” he said, laughing. “Of course I still got it. That’s the thing. When you retire on your own terms, you can make the argument that you still have it.”
