Doc Rivers departure from the Boston Celtics wasn’t the most admirable. Though Rivers maintains that everything is cool between he and Danny Ainge he’s also been vocal about Ainge lying about the details of him leaving. Boston fans of course weren’t pleased with Rivers departure and this comment won’t go over well with them either. Read more after the jump.
Doc Rivers is a well respected coach and one of the very best in the league. When he left the Celtics to become the Clippers new head coach it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. This comment will only add fuel to the fire.

“The risk is all mine,” Rivers told Yahoo! Sports, referring to his move to the Los Angeles Clippers. “To go to an organization that hasn’t won but (two) playoff series in their entire history, in a town where the other team is the best franchise in sports history – that’s risk.
“But the opportunity – for me – gives me life. If we get this right, it will be the story of stories to tell. At this point in my life, the gamble is worth it.”
Yes you read right. Doc Rivers called the Lakers the best franchise in sports history. The very same Lakers that are the Boston Celtics bitter rivals for longer than I’ve been alive. Yikes.
