I can’t lie, I agree with this 100%. I just hate when former players in any sport wait until they are out of the league to talk negatively about current players. Tracy McGrady has an issue with some of the decisions the younger players in the league seem to be making, specifically Michael Beasley. We all know Beasley has had some issues, and frankly he is lucky any team, especially the Heat are going to give him one last chance. Hit the jump to see what McGrady said.

“You’ve got some guys in the league now who are just knuckleheads. What turns me off is guys doing the wrong thing. Just the legal part of it, hanging out, getting these DUIs, marijuana, all that crazy stuff, just doing the wrong thing, setting a bad example for the young guys”. He went on to say “I don’t quite understand it. I take a guy like Beasley. Had all the potential in the world but he’s not level-headed. He just doesn’t get it. And a very talented player. But where else are you going to make this type of money doing something you love to do every day, take care of your family and play basketball. I mean, are you serious? You get millions of dollars for it and you mess these opportunities up? I don’t get it.”
McGrady hit it right on the head when he said where else are you going to be able to make this type of money and take care of your family doing something you love. Beasley does not strike me as a smart individual, so if the NBA ever gives up on him, who knows what he will be doing for money later on. His lifestyle would take a dramatic turn I can tell you that.
