Big Sean is currently wrapped up in a whirlwind run of shows, interviews and appearances for his new album Hall of Fame, but the G.O.O.D. Music rapper still made sure to find time to give back to the community that made him who he is. As he says himself on HOF, “Time to time, you got to make time when it’s time for karma to come back around.”
Before his major “homecoming” show (where he brought out surprise guests Nicki Minaj and Drake), Sean spent a large chunk of time handing out backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in need at Detroit Public Schools’ back-to-school fair. Though Sean was the main attraction, the event also featured career advice, educational games, science experiments and more, all put together by new MBA students at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
“DPS needs this more than anybody,” Sean said. “Hopefully this is just the first of many events we can do to help give back.”
The fair marked the first official event for Sean’s new charity, The Sean Anderson Foundation, of which his mom Myra Anderson will serve as President of, so of course she was present as well. Check out some of the touching photos in the gallery. Love, love, love how Sean is giving back!
