Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer is suing the Sensa Weight loss company for refusing to pay her hundreds of thousands of dollars in endorsements, hit the jump for the full story!
Octavia Spenser took to the L.A Superior Courts and filed a suit against the Sensa weight loss company over their alleged “breach of contract and fraud”. The company is best known for its weight loss method in which you sprinkle the diet substance on your food and it “allegedly” makes it so that you “eat less and get full faster”.
The Oscar winning actress, who starred in the movie “The Help,” had been pursued by the company after her paramount role. She accepted the endorsement after setting up boundaries including no before or after pictures of the weight loss. She accused the company of failing to pay her up to $700,000 of her 1.25 million contract, after using her face in their campaigns and placing blame on her for their “failed advertising” .
“Just last April, Spencer spoke to HuffPost and had nothing but great things to say about her newly-adopted healthy lifestyle. “I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that [Sensa is] a part of my life because weight loss is hard,” she said. “Twenty pounds is a lot of weight. And so getting out of your head and being consistent and using a product that definitely enhances your life is … I’m screaming it from the rooftops because I know how hard it is and it’s just been amazing for me. Amazing.”
