A reason wasn’t given as to why he went on the shooting spree but police say Allen, who was 72, killed his longtime boss, 80-year-old Marvin Pritchett and killed former co-worker Rolando Gonzalez-Delgado, who was 28. Two others were also shot but were taken to the hospital to treat their injuries.
Allen reportedly played a pivotal role in raising Spiller who played in the Bills’ preseason game shortly after the news broke. Spiller left the game with a knee injury and did not speak to the media afterward.
Bills coach Doug Marrone said he knew about the shooting before the game.
“I did know that the situation did occur prior to us playing,” Marrone said. “I didn’t know anything about any facts or anything like that and I still just became aware of the facts that there are media reports out there, but I have no idea of what exactly is true and what’s going on. . . . As far as I know he knew that there was something that happened personally, but we really didn’t have any information prior to the game. I was aware of the various media reports right after the game, but no one knows all the facts so I’m not going to comment at this time.”
