Instagram has acquired Luma for an undisclosed amount. With Luma Instagram hopes to bring it’s video service to the next level by offering users video stabilization and adjustments for brightness and saturation. They also want to woo users with it’s “Infinite Filter” in which you can add or remove filters to video clips once you have the footage. This would be a great asset to Insta considering the competition isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
As part of Luma’s transition to Instagram they are shutting down Luma this is what the company had to say on their official website.
“Eighteen months ago, we embarked on a mission to make capturing and sharing beautiful videos easy without expensive software or heavy equipment. By joining the exceptionally talented team at Instagram, we’re taking another big step towards realizing that mission. We’re incredibly excited to be able to help make a product that is already used and loved by millions of people even better.”
