A 21-year-old Transgender woman named Islan Nettles was brutally attacked on Frederick Douglass Blvd between 147th Street and 148th Street in Harlem. According to the police, the “thug” was yelling anti-gay slurs during the beating that is currently being investigated as a hate crime. Nettles family made the heart-wrenching decision to take their daughter off of life-support after being treated at Harlem Hospital for almost a week.

20-year-old Paris Wilson has been charged with misdemeanor assault, but the police said there could be a possible upgrade in the chargers once the results of a medical report comes back.
