After tripping on a rock during his family’s camping trip, 4-year-old Paul Franklin had gotten a scrape on his knee. The scrape was pretty small at the time. In fact, his parents only felt the need to clean it up and throw a band-aid on it. After they’d done that –about a week later– they noticed that the cut didn’t improve. It began to swell and turn red hurting so bad that the child was unable to walk.
Shortly after the swelling, Paul’s mother, Rachael, noticed that part of his knee began to turn black. Once noticed, she immediately took him to his doctor to have it drained. For some odd reason, the doctors couldn’t drain it, so against their wishes she took her son home and squeezed the wound.
After squeezing it, a black snail came out. Paul’s father, Ken, believes his son must have fallen on a nest on that rock, forcing an egg into his knee, where it began gestating.
Paul has named the snail Turbo. As for his knee, its almost completely healed now.
