CBS New Correspondent Mark Knoller has done the math and has figure out a ton of presidential data including how many vacation days President Obama has taken so far in his second term. Click the jump to see how he compares to other past presidents like Bill CLinton and George W. Bush!
Mark Knoller has been recording and collecting presidential data since 1996. This data includes when the president leaves the white house to go on vacation (even though a president cannot really take time off). As of August 13th, 2013, President Obama has taken 96 vacation days, or 15 vacation trips including the one he is currently on in Martha’s Vineyard with his family. At the same point of his second term, George W. Bush had taken 335 vacation days and was on his 51th visit to his ranch in Crawford, Texas by August 13th, 2005. WOW! And Bill Clinton? At this point in his second term he had 84 vacation days and was on his 11th vacation trip.
But who is the president that golfs more? Obama has played 135 rounds of golf as president so far while George W. Bush had only played 24 rounds of golf in his presidency (he though playing golf was inappropriate while American troops were in Afghanistan). Interesting data, thanks Mark Knoller!
