After the killing of a Georgia toddler who was in his stroller while the tragic murder took place five months ago, the teen suspect is awaiting trial, hit the jump for more detail!
The trial of murder victim and toddler, 13 month old Antonio Santiago, will begin Monday. The toddler had been shot in the head, in his Brunswick home, on March 21st, at the hands of 18 year old, De’Marquise Elkins.
“Police say 18-year-old Elkins opened fire during an attempted robbery after the child’s mother refused to give him cash. A 15-year-old boy charged as an accomplice, Dominique Lang, told police Elkins fired the gun and is expected to be a key witness”
Elkins defense has implied in “pretrial motion” that the death of the toddler was caused by by the child’s parents and not the alleged teen suspect.
“A judge moved the trial 325 miles away to an Atlanta suburb because of pretrial publicity”.
