A 27 year old woman is being accused of conning an 85 year old Gold Coast man after meeting him in a library into giving her how much?! Hit the jump to find out the details!
27 year old, Candy Marabanian is currently being accused of deceiving, an 85 year old man that she picked up at the library into believing that she loved him so that he could giver her funds.
On July 25th the two met after the man was leaving the Newberry Library, she decided to practice her “good karma” by offering to help the senior carry his books home. The nice deed ended up turning into a lunch date, stated Assistant State’s Attorney Erin Antonietti on Friday.
Four days after meeting the man, Marabonian felt confident in asking her new “friend” for $2,500 at a restaurant. What does Cady need with $2,500? She claimed that she needed the money “to pay a lawyer so she could get her dead husband’s estate out of probate court”.
“About a week after the man gave her the money, Marabanian allegedly told him she loved him and asked for $20,000 to start a decorating business, Antonietti said”.
The man finally grew suspicious of Candy’s tactics after she asked for the second amount of money and called authorities. The man later found out that Candy’s 82 year old husband was in fact still alive.
Candy Maribian is currently being charged with theft and is being held on a $40,000 bond. I guess one sugar daddy was not enough for Candy!
