Sony has been hard at work creating a new internet based service that will stream cable channels. The company has tentatively reached a deal with Viacom ,who owns Nickelodeon, MTV and VH1, to allow their networks to be carried on the new service. The new Sony service would be similar to Netflix in which users pay a subscription to receive the content. This is the first deal of its kind, where a major Programming Network and an electronic powerhouse got together. So far only Viacom has agreed to be apart of this yet to be named service. Hopefully more will follow suit.
