The New York fire department reported, “MAN ALL HANDS ED KOCH QUEENSBORO BRIDGE, FIRE ON BRIDGE LOWER LEVEL.” All lanes are shut down until further notice. Reports are going around that a big rig caught on fire. Not only is the big rig, and the bridge in flames, but looks like some electrical cables are seen burning as well. As more information flows in, we’ll continue to give you the details.

If you’re commuting and your plans were to take the Manhattan Queensboro Bridge, you may have to re-route yourself. There has been reported that some kind of explosion/fire started on the bridge. As details emerge, we’ll fill you in. For now, hit the jump and check out the scene.
