It seems as if any NBA player who needs to work on their post game can just go see Hakeem and come back an expert. That is what Dwight Howard is hoping for, especially since he gets to work with him on a constant basis now that he is part of the Rockets. Hakeem said that after 10 years in the league, Dwight is still “very raw”, but is encouraged about other things. Hit the jump for more.

According to Rockets.com:

Hakeem is pleased with many things about Dwight, but feels he still can improve a tremendous amount. He was quoted saying,

As good as he is right now, he’s still very raw. But he has all the tools so I’m like a kid in a candy store. That’s why we give him the fundamentals of these moves. There’s a rhythm. And once he sees it, then it’s easier to emulate and then incorporate with power. He has the power. Now we’re adding finesse to the power. The best big men in the game – they’re game-changers. That’s what he is. And he’s in the right situation where the coach understands it, he demands it, and Dwight can give it.”

So basically Hakeem is saying leave me alone with Dwight for a while, and he will be the beast he is supposed to be. Can’t really argue with that. Working with Hakeem produces results. Just ask Lebron and Amare.
