Claiming that Texas Police savagely beat him, 34-year-old Reginald Deon Davis has filed a federal lawsuit. In the court statement, Davis stated that he was in Galveston, Texas –the place where the incident occurred– to attend a friend’s birthday party. After attending, he went to Denny’s and, too tired to make it home, decided to park his car on a beach and sleep. Despite his doing so, it was illegal to camp on the beach without a permit –which was found out by the abusive cops that pulled him from his car to arrest him. During the violent encounter with officers, Davis claims that he did not begin to resist except for when the officers held his face in the water in attempts to drown him.
