You could be 5 feet away from your valuables…and STILL GET ROBBED! A new type of robber, called “sliders”, are stealing women’s purses and other valuables from their unlocked cars while they are pumping gas! You can check out how they do it in the video below.
Sliders can commit these crimes in less than 20 seconds and then zoom off as if nothing has happened! This just shows that you cannot count on your car to be a safe place to keep your valuables. It does seem crazy for these sliders to rob someone when that person is so close to them but since it can take less than 20 seconds, they are able to efficiently steal items. What can you do to keep your items safe? Lock your passenger car door, always be on the lookout and put your valuables in the glove compartment or on the driver seat!
