A Human trafficking ring, involving the smuggling of chinese citizens to different countries ran by a gang has been busted! Hit the jump for more detail!
Authorities in Spain are currently undergoing an investigation alongside French authorities in connection to a human trafficking bust ran by a gang in both countries. The gang was allegedly smuggling Chinese citizens into Europe and the United States. The base of their business was ran in a Barcelona airport, where they considered this a “drop-off” point for the Chinese citizens. This was also where false documents would be prepared for the Chinese citizens before their final destinations.
“The gang allegedly charged up to 50,000 euros ($66,700) to transport Chinese nationals to the U.S., Britain, Spain, France, Greece, Italy and Turkey”.
75 people have been arrested in Spain and 24 in France in relation to the trafficking, reports the Interior Ministry. 81 fake assorts were confiscated and the citizens are thought to have had complete trust in their alleged travel agents. The ministry also reports that some of those trafficked ” ended up in the sex trade”.
