One of the industries most care free and well renown bad girl’s MIA has taken to twitter for an announcement. The musician took to her twitter @MIAUniverse and tweeted: “who would stop MATANGI from coming out?. Followed by ” If interscope takes longer i can always leak this next week and make a new one by the time they are ready.” Soon after hundreds flocked to her twitter and encouraged the artist with favorites and retweets.
MIA declared that she believed her project was set to be released earlier this years. She also expressed that her label held back from putting out her album due to the sound of the album being too “positive”. She stated:
“I thought I’d finished it. I finished it and then I handed the record in, like a couple of months ago,” she said. “At the moment, I’ve been told it’s too positive. So we’re having a bit of an issue at the label. They’re like ‘You need to like darken it up a bit’. I don’t know what it is but as soon as I work that out… I’m taking my time to decide what they mean. It’s an interesting one for me. It’s like, ‘We just built you up as the public enemy No. 1 and now you’re coming out with all this positive stuff.'”
