The crash of a turbo prop airplane leaving New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport on Friday morning en route to Tweed New Haven Airport has left two dead and one missing, states East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo. The plane crash occurred Friday morning, when it hit two houses, injuring two victims in one home. Luckily the other had been empty.
“Maturo said the children were in one house with their mother when the plane struck shortly before 11:30 a.m., Maturo said, adding that the mother escaped”.
Two bodies could be seen within one of the houses, yet the fire that submerged amongst the houses, had made it “unstable” and in result “prevented (officials) them from searching for victims”.
The crash does not seem surprising to residents surrounding the area that is just half a miles reach of the Tweed Airport:
“They fly in very low, and a lot of times you can hear the engine cut of before it gets to the runway,” a resident reported.
The mayor replied stating:
“It’s always a concern, but it’s something that happens in every airport”.
