In a recent article with WIRED.com, Just Blaze stated he’s always been into he considers himself more of a tinkerer than a hacker, but I guess in todays time Hacker would be a bit more appropriate. Back when 2way pagers were the Shiznet, Mr. Blaze was the 1st one to figure out how to take motorola’s ‘Music’ capabilities and turn them into actual ringtones, and let me tell you I remember that clearly, Ringtones on a 2way was the only way to live! Out of this amazing talent Just got the rep that he could make beats through a 2way, and not to mention provided the world with a Billion $ Business without even knowing it!
Nowadays Just Blaze is pretty much a producer only by trade, but says he does use some musical Apps that help in Beat production, but also uses an iPad to create the pulses we know as ‘Just Blaze Beats’
“There are music apps that I use on the iPad, but they’re mostly synths and whatnot. I’m not making music on the iPad right now; I just use it as a sound module,” he says. “I need tactile feedback, which sounds weird coming from an iPhone user, but when I make music, I need to feel it.”
