Interracial couples (to me) are the most beautiful thing in the world. Even though times are changing and people are [generally] more accepting now of race, back in the day it wasn’t all gravy. Soulful singer Robin Thicke spilled the beans as to why his wifey Paula Patton refused to take him to her high school prom. Find out after the jump!

Robin Thicke admitted that his relationship with Paula Patton wasn’t always peaches and cream. He confessed that Paula wouldn’t take him to her high school prom because he was white and she didn’t want anybody to know about her caucasian boo thang.

“Yeah sure, a little here and there. She [Paula] got a lot and I would take on whatever she was going through when she got home from those issues. The funny thing is, in high school she didn’t take me to prom, her prom, because she didn’t want everyone to know she was with a white guy because she was president of the Black Student Union. I was a secret. She didn’t want to show up with a white guy. Funny right? That was 20 years ago and I do believe that with music and a lot of the influences in movies and entertainment is normally the leader in changing some of these societal things. And I think that times are changing. The new generation doesn’t feel the same way as the last generation…It’s mostly the older people who have those thoughts.”

Don’t worry, Paula. Once they would have heard him sing, race would have no longer been an issue. LOL! Big ups to you soulful white men out there. #YouAreAppreciated.
