Major Nidal Hasan, the accused Fort Hood shooting suspect, has resigned his American Citizenship, threw out his army oath and further associated himself as a”Soldier of Allah”. Documents surfaced Thursday revealing the true motives, feelings and influences of the suspect Hasan:

“The documents included the acronym “SoA,” widely believed to stand for “Soldier of Allah.” In one Oct. 18, 2012, document, Hasan said it’s not “permissible” for someone to choose America’s political system over Shariah law, Fox News said. He also wrote that Muslims shouldn’t “compromise their beliefs” for those who don’t follow the tenets of Islam”.

Hasan is serving as his own lawyer during his trial, fighting 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder. The shooting rampage in Fort Hood left 13 dead and over 30 injured.

Many have been fighting against the case being dubbed as “violence in workplace” rather than a terrorist act due to the new feelings and documents that have surfaced of the suspect. In the document he described a radical Islamist Anwar al-Awlaki as a “Teacher, mentor and friend”. What do you guys think? Should this man be tried as a Terrorist?
