Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire was scheduled to have a week long training session with NBA hall of famer Hakeem Olajuwon. I think it would of benefited Amar’e to have that one on one time with Hakeem “the dream”, but the Knicks have other ideas. For the team, the cancelled plans do make sense though. Hakeem has become the go-to person to learn some new tricks for current NBA players. When he was a player, he was the best center in the league for the majority of his career. After his highly publicized workouts with Lebron James a couple seasons ago, everyone wanted to work with him. Those workouts did wonders for Lebron’s overall game, especially down in the post, and everyone noticed. Amar’e, who when healthy is actually a pretty good post player, still could of learned a thing or two from Hakeem. Amar’e has actually worked with Hakeem in the past, but another session to pick up some more things was cancelled due to the Knicks being concerned with his health. After constant Knee and back problems, the team felt it was more important for him to get as much rest as possible during the off season. There will always be another chance to perfect “the dream shake”.
