There are some things as a President Elect that you just shouldn’t do. Attending a national holiday, surrounded by reporters and expressing your hateful thoughts about Israelis? One of them. Read more after jump
President Elect of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, decided it would be a good idea to share his thoughts of the Israeli while he paraded the streets during the national Iran holiday known as Al-Quds Day ( the Arabic name for Jerusalem). During the “holiday” Iranians march around yelling “Death to Israel”.
“Mr. Rouhani told state television that “a sore has been sitting on the body of the Islamic world for many years,” a reference to Israel”
Although many Iranian politicians before him have expressed fully their hate for Israel, Rouhani was considered a moderate candidate, working towards consolation amongst the two countries. Of course the comments he made did not sit well with the prime minister of Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu has called Rouhani before a ” wolf in sheep’s clothing”. He continued to scpress himself fully of the president elect in saying that he has shown his true colors early, exposing that he in fact believes the same way as the anti-isreali politicians before him. He continued:
“The president there has changed, but the goal of the regime has not: to achieve nuclear weapons in order to threaten Israel, the Middle East and the peace and security of the entire world. A country that threatens the destruction of the state of Israel must not be allowed to possess weapons of mass destruction.”
Theres a certain code of conduct amongst the way politicians are intended to act, well on camera at least. He is clearly joining the rest of the un-classy, misfits who just don’t know how to act!
